Scenic Cableway

The 545 metre Scenic Cableway journey takes visitors from the top of the escarpment to join the boardwalk in the Jamison Valley, and back. The fully enclosed cabin offers a unique vantage point for viewing iconic rock formations including the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock and Mt Solitary. Passing closely by sheer sandstone cliffs, it showcases the renowned geology and geomorphology of the World Heritage region.

Scenic Railway

Discover the thrill of a 52 degree (128%) incline in open terrain, riding the steepest passenger train in the world, the Scenic Railway. Following an award-winning redevelopment in 2013, the fifth generation train travels an unforgetable 310 metre route through a cliff tunnel before emerging on the floor of the Jamison Valley. A truly unique experience in every sense, the railway delivers guests to the boardwalk and back.

Scenic Skyway

Enjoy panaromic views of World Heritage landscapes on the Scenic Skyway. This experience provides the best views of Katoomba Falls, the Three Sisters, Mt Solitary and Jamison Valley. Suspended 270 metres above ancient ravines, breathtaking views of rainforest canopy are revealed beneath your feet through electro-glass cabin floor. It is the largest aerial cable car in the Southern Hemisphere.

Scenic Walkway

Experience walking under the canopy of an extraordinary temperate rainforest. Located in the Jamison Valley, the Scenic Walkway offers a choice of elevated boardwalks, that link the railway and cableway stations. The Jamison Valley rainforest is home to many species of native flora and fauna, some dating back to Jurassic era.

  • Descend into the Jamison Valley on the world’s steepest train, the Scenic Railway, or glide on the Cableway past Orphan Rock and the iconic Three Sisters - you decide

  • Enjoy a stroll beneath ancient rainforest canopy at your own pace along the 10 minute, *30 minute and *50 Minute Scenic Walkway

  • Check out the Gruffalo Spotters Trail

  • Return to the main building via the Cableway or the Scenic Railway

  • Glide past ancient sandstone cliffs, epic valley views and spectacular Katoomba Falls on a return trip on the Scenic Skyway. The Skyway stops on the east side of the valley, where you can jump off to explore Katoomba Cascades, Reid's Plateau
     

And enjoy these iconic attractions as many times as you like in a day!

Scenic World is an outdoor attraction, so please come prepared to be in the elements. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear appropriate shoes.

*Please note the 30 minute and the 50 minute boardwalk closes approximately 1 hour before closing time. We advise arriving promptly at the beginning of your session if you purchase the last session of the day and wish to access the longer boardwalk.
